What is Search Engine Optimization?
So, what exactly is Search Engine Optimization and what can it do for my company? I already have a web site, so why should I do anything further?
These are all great questions. Let me address them by describing a real life scenario to you...
Let's say that you sell Real Estate in the Denver, Colorado Area. Business is low to average, but you may still say to yourself, "very few people are going to use the Internet to find me. It's a waste of my time and will just cost me more money to change the way it is now." Sound familiar?
Now, for a staggering discovery.
Currently, as I am writing this article, it is estimated that there were almost 600 people, JUST TODAY, that searched for a Realtor in the Denver, Colorado area!! That's 18,000 potential customers a MONTH that you could be getting a piece of, or at least making phone calls to!! (DATA SOURCE: Wordtracker.com )
Over 491 MILLION people perform a search using a search engine, like Google, Yahoo, or MSN, every DAY! (DATA SOURCE: Wordtracker.com)

Is
Your Wireless Network Protected From Hackers?
This past weekend, in my neighborhood, I found
5 unprotected wireless connections just from
the comfort of my home office. This means that I could
have surfed the Internet thru their house, using their
bandwidth, freeloading on their dime, AND if I wanted
to, I could have easily viewed the private files
on their computer. This trick, people, can
be done by anyone who has a wireless
network card in their computer, or worse, in their laptop.
A laptop is much worse, because people, called
War-Drivers,
can drive around, scanning the area for unprotected
wireless networks, and connect to or hack any
vulnerable connections they find. What this
also means is that they can perform illegal
activities using your connection, and guess
who gets the visit from the FBI or the authorities?
That's right! You do.
Surprisingly, out of the box, you're not protected.
There are settings and configuring that need to be
made. So, you say to yourself, "I'm
covered because I enabled WEP encryption on my system." Well
folks, turning on your Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP)
alone, will not make you safe either. Two
of the vulnerable connections that I could access
in my neighborhood, indeed had WEP Enabled and that
didn't keep me out, nor
will it stop a hacker or freeloader. Keep
in mind, that I was just checking to see who wasn't
protected to make the points in this article. I didn't
do anything other than see if I could connect and
pull up a web page using that connection as my test.
So, are you concerned now? Have questions? Call us
or Contact Us to find out if you are protected and how
to take the necessary steps to ensure that you
are safe from wireless hackers and freeloaders. Get
protected before you're a victim to being hacked,
having your private files viewed/stolen, or worse,
a victim to deleted data.

Consulting Becomes Colorado Computer Guy.
In an effort to keep up with today's fast pace and purport
our business type in the simplest and quickest way possible,
we have changed our name to Colorado Computer
Guy. In today's hustle and bustle pace, we
oftentimes never get past a simple headline or title
we may read in the paper, on an advertisement, or billboard.
Reiley Consulting, at first glance, may not
appear to be a Computer Consulting Company
at all. Perhaps it could be a tax consulting company
or investments consulting company. Either way, if you
don't read past this title or headline, you may not
ever know that we do just about anything from Computer
Repair to Web Site Creation
to Search Engine Placement Ranking (SERP.)
So, we carefully considered this and decided upon this
more explanatory name. We hope you like it! Of course,
you will get the same quality service with a
smile and our guarantee as usual.
